A Project

Please don't keel over - I know I have been a bit lax in posting actual crafts recently but there is so much to tell you most of the time they don't get a look in!!

I have been exceedingly busy with preparation for Classes, Fairs and Parties and also getting to grips with some new photo software i have - see I can do proper watermarks these days. My life is so hectic when I take time to do these things something has to give and this time it was you my dear friends!! I am hoping to make up for it in December however with lots of lovely ideas for Christmas knick knacks and cards!

I have managed to photo most of the projects that have been flying off my craft table so now its time to share.

However, I have now planned Christmas (yeah right) and am onto next years Stamping Classes!!! So look out for the list of classes and dates to follow shortly. I will also be sending out a newsletter - its all written just again sorting photos for it!

Anyway what to share and where to start. Here is a gorgeous little handbag of notelets - great as an any time gift especially if you need an alternative to Choccies or Wine - who wouldn't like this sitting on the side waiting for an opportune moment to pop a little thank you note in the post. You could also put a little pocket on the front and slip a book of stamps in so it really is no effort to stay in touch in these busy times...

This project uses:
Holiday Treasures Papers
Chocolate Chip Gross grain ribbon (Narrow)
An oddment of adhesive die cuts from Stamping up (but could easily be substituted with a scallop punch
Scallop punch and 1 1/4 inch circle punch
Hung up on Holidays Stamp set for the Gingerbread man
Perfect Presents stamp set for the Poinsettia - although this could be cutfrom the patterned paper as well.
Large eyelets set with a Cropodile
SU Love Notes mini cards and envelopes

The folding for the bag is straight forward. Fold in two sides of a 12 x 12 sheet about 3cm or an inch. Turn the paper and fold in the two none folded sides so they overlap slightly - glue together with double sided tape, and then crease the two sides to form a flat tube. Score a centre line and then tow further lines about 1.5cm to each side of that line - fold so that there is a mountain fold in the centre and the folds make a letter W shape. Glue the two sides of the flattened tube together so that two pockets are side by side. Punch holes and apply the big eyelets with the Cropodile and thread the ribbon through gluing the edges of the ribbon back on itself with doublesided tape. Remember to keep the two handles the same size.

Now my little cards were all slightly different and really used up scraps of patterned paper and ribbon. But this one has a small oblong of paper on the bottom half of the card and a scallop from patterned paper I then stamped the image in Chocolate Chip ink on whisper white card and punched it out with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch. The snip of ribbon I punched two small holes and threaded through before tying in a small knot. To keep it postable on a standard first class stamp tie half a knot and use a small SU glue dot to secure it.

This one comes from an array of samples for Fair this evening at a local primary school - hoping to get some Mums addicted to this great hobby of ours.
I will be bringing more mini tutorials soon.
